The Department of Sanskrit began its journey at the time of the inception of the college. It has been served by illustrious teachers and has produced students who have made their mark in various field. The department takes care of students’ holistic learning need by organizing several co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, besides meticulous attention to University curriculum.

75% students of III Year got 1st class in the B. A /B.Sc.Part-III Examination 2016 of University of Calcutta.
A. Students of 1st year participated in the All Bengal Inter College & University Sanskrit Recitation Competition 2015-2016, Organised by the Department of Sanskrit, Ramkrishna Mission Vidyamandira on 3rd September, 2015.

C. 1st year student Smt. Pinky Chandra has participated in 9th All Bengal GOSOKU Ryu Karate-Do Championship-2016 held at Arunachal Sangha, Ganguly Bagan, Kolkata on 17th January 2016 as a contestant in the Kumite 55-60 KG Girl’s 18 Yrs.& Above event and was awarded Bronze Medal.
A. A SPECIAL LECTURE ON Commoners in Sanskrit Literature delivered by Dr. Ratna Pande, Secretary, Governing Body of Women’s Christian College and former Associate Professor of Scottish Church College: on 5th October, 2015.
