The Department of Sanskrit began its journey at the time of the inception of the college. It has been served by illustrious teachers and has produced students who have made their mark in various field. The department takes care of students’ holistic learning need by organizing several co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, besides meticulous attention to University curriculum.
OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS
A. Students of 1st year participated in the All Bengal Inter College & University Sanskrit Recitation Competition 2015-2016, Organised by the Department of Sanskrit, Ramkrishna Mission Vidyamandira on 3rd September, 2015.
B. Students of 1st Year were successfully completed WATER TIDEKAYAKING and DISASTER MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME conducted by National Adventure Foundation W.B. Chapter atRiver Hooghly from 14th to 16th January,2016 sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports,Government of India.
C. 1st year student Smt. Pinky Chandra has participated in 9th All Bengal GOSOKU Ryu Karate-Do Championship-2016 held at Arunachal Sangha, Ganguly Bagan, Kolkata on 17th January 2016 as a contestant in the Kumite 55-60 KG Girl’s 18 Yrs.& Above event and was awarded Bronze Medal.

STUDENT SEMINAR
DATE- 5TH MARCH, 2012. Subject- Yuger vivartane nari an Inter Disciplinary Student Seminar organisedby the departments of History,Philosophy and Sanskrit.3rd year student Moumita Gupta and 2nd year student Anwesha Sarkar of Sanskrit Department presented a paper on Vaidic yuge nari.

QUIZ PROGRAMME: Students of the Department actively participated in the quiz programme organised by the Department of Sanskrit on 1st December, 2013.

A) III Year student Sm. Bula Bagchi gotIst class in the B.A/B.Sc Part-III Examination 2015 of University of Calcutta and secured 64% marks.
